Burung Indonesia (BirdLife Indonesia Association) is a member of the BirdLife International Global Partnership that consists of conservation organizations with the common aim to conserve birds, their habitats, and global biodiversity in partnership with people.

ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION PROGRAMME 
Burung Indonesia’s Ecosystem Restoration Programme (ERP) is recruiting energetic individuals with a concern for biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and community partnerships.


Head of Resource Centre (HRC) 
Demonstrated experience in knowledge management processes, infrastructure, and principles; proven leadership qualities, training, communication and negotiation skills; project management experience.

Main Tasks: Coordinate knowledge development team in the Resource Centre; design knowledge management strategy; oversee implementation of knowledge management system; train and educate staff and other stakeholders on use of the knowledge management system, and provide and/or facilitate ongoing support for users of the system; establish and maintain cooperative links with local government and stakeholders; develop networks with research institutes and with other relevant learning initiatives on forestry, restoration, community development etc; willing to stay in the field for a long period.

Qualification: University degree in social sciences, communication, information or similar skills. At least 5 years of relevant working experience.


Knowledge Management Officer (KMO)
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing knowledge management and information systems; working knowledge on coordinating trainings; working knowledge in designing and analyzing data and survey questionnaires; working knowledge in maintaining web-based information systems; and willing to stay in the field for a long period of time.

Main tasks: Implement and monitor knowledge management strategy in the resource centre; capture, document and analyze knowledge assets; design and coordinate capacity building for field staff; develop and manage the library based information services in accordance with the organization’s strategic objectives; develop relevant collections to support the information needs of the RC and its various programs.

Qualifications: University degree in communication, information, education or similar skills. At least 5 years of relevant working experience.


Forest Resource Management Specialist (FRMS) 
Thorough knowledge of multiple use forest resource management, protection and conservation; proven technical skills in production forest resource management; considerable knowledge of forest rehabilitation and restoration and forestry regulations; extensive experience with community agroforestry management and business; familiar with forest-climate issues; and willing to stay in the field for a long period of time

Main tasks: Provide input in the planning and administration of forest restoration programs such as, but not limited to: forest inventory, silviculture, fire protection, forest rehabilitation and reforestation; Coordinates and assists in the administration and conduct of research; Documents knowledge and experience based on the forestry operation; Involved in developing training programs for field staff.

Qualifications: Degree in forestry and considerable professional experience in forest resources management; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. At least 5 years of relevant working experience.


Communication and Outreach Specialist (COS) 
Experienced in design and production of  awareness/promotion materials; Experience in developing public awareness and outreach programs; Experience in report and content writing, design and production of  awareness/promotion materials; Experience in managing media activities, and press releases; and Willing to stay in the field for a long period of time.

Main tasks: Develops clear written content for technical and non-technical audiences for use on the program website and within print materials; manages the development and editing of high quality written materials including lesson learnt, factual stories, publications, press releases, pitch letters, Q & As, and other communications materials in cooperation with relevant units and job holders; monitors  and evaluates the effectiveness of communication strategy and provides recommendations for adjusting the strategy as necessary; Manage the adaptation and translation of all project related communications and media materials; Develop and maintain media and other stakeholders relations; Organizes and promote Resource Centre events; public speaking and confidently communicating verbally to a wide variety of audiences; work with program partners and key stakeholders to ensure that all outreach projects comply with Burung Indonesia branding guidelines and messaging strategy;

Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, or a PR related discipline. Minimum 4 years experience, with development experience required.


Programme Management Support Assistant (PMSA) 
Demonstrated experience working on international development projects; strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task, coordinate activities, people and documentation while being meticulous with deadlines; good oral and written English skills; strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.

Main tasks: A wide variety of administrative duties as assigned, including composition of letters, preparation of memos, minutes, reports, correspondence and presentations; assist senior personnel with preparation of reports and other documents; generate and distribute agendas, meeting minutes and reports; coordinate and schedule both internal and external meetings and local/international travel arrangements; process visas for international consultants; process research permits; set up and maintain project files; work collaboratively with other administrative staff.

Qualification: Minimum a certificate or diploma in Office Administration or equivalent experience with preferably 3 or more years of experience in the delivery of international projects.
 
 
CONSERVATION PROGRAMME
Burung Indonesia is working in priority sites for biodiversity to conserve important bird species and their habitat through active engagement with the public, local governments, private sector and other stakeholders.
 
Community Partnerships Officer (CPO) 
Community development and planning practices; ability to develop and analyze community development plans; effective negotiation and mediation skills.

Main tasks: Facilitate the development of, and implement, community development plan including vision, goals and objectives; research and provide recommendations on community development opportunities; provides oversight and support to existing community partnerships; assists with the facilitation the development of new partnerships; develops the strategy and protocols for working with communities; acts as a liaison for community initiatives; coordinates community-focused projects; other duties as required from time to time; willing to stay in the field for a long period of time. 

Qualifications: A social sciences degree with at least 4 years of experience working in community development.
 
 
KNOWLEDGE CENTRE
Burung Indonesia’s Knowledge Centre (KC) collects information, conducts analysis, and facilitates the exchange of experience and knowledge within and outside the organization.  
 
 
Research & Communication Officer (RCO)

Main tasks: develop up to date and reliable knowledge assets for organization development; develop conservation knowledge research; conduct strategic analysis on priority conservation issues; facilitate strategy development on conservation knowledge communication; coordinate knowledge centre staff in disseminating priority conservation information to organization’s internal and external; liaise with research organizations and develop networking; promote organization’s conservation knowledge. 

Qualifications: Ecology, forestry, or conservation management related degree with at least 4 years of experience working in natural resources management and development.
